Biomass Burner Fuel Size Requirements for Fluidized Bed Boilers

Fluidized bed boilers have strict requirements for the particle size of the fuel entering the furnace, so a series of pretreatments such as screening and crushing are needed to ensure that the size and condition of biomass fuels are uniformed, guaranteeing normal fluidization. For biomass materials with small density, loose structure, and poor heat storage capacity, such as rice husks and wood chips, it is necessary to continuously add quartz sand or similar materials to maintain the required heat storage bed material for normal combustion. The resulting biomass fly ash is hard, easily causing wear on the boiler’s heat transfer surfaces, and the mixing of ash and slag with quartz sand or other bed materials makes it difficult to comprehensively utilize them. The operating costs are also relatively high.
